Since 1983, Xafax has played a prominent role in the Dutch market for registration and payment systems.
From the moment of its foundation, Xafax has specialized in developing 'copy-control' systems; in simple terms systems for registering and / or settling copy and print jobs. The name Xafax originated from a combination of the words Xerox and Fax. When the name was created, the fax did not yet exist. This was a type of copier.
From 1990 to 2001, the focus is next to the sale of payment systems for printing and copying, on the development of multifunctional chip card systems for various application areas such as catering, vending and access control.
With the acquisition of IT-Sec BV in 2002 , Xafax has taken the step towards the world of libraries. Many libraries are now equipped with a PayStation , the self-service payment terminal from Xafax . Development has not stood still. In 20 19 the 5th generation was introduced as part of the Cashless Library concept.
