Covid-19 and contactless payment

As a measure to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the limit for contactless payments without a PIN code has been increased.

Many students pay contactless with their debit card. But there are more and more possibilities. Pay with your mobile (QR), watch or via a wristband.

How does contactless payment work?

With contactless payment, you hold a debit card, smartphone or wearable device near the payment application. You have often already paid immediately. Sometimes you still have to enter a PIN code. That depends on the amount and/or the app you use.

Contactless payments are already well established. Most educational institutions were already cashless and in 2019 almost 70% of all electronic payments in the Netherlands were contactless.

Xafax NetPay

Our added value is that in addition to contactless payments, we have built our own cloud payment platform, which can be used to determine what users are allowed or able to do based on rights. The platform makes it possible to determine and apply the correct price and discount based on the identity of the user.

Pay with your mobile

Xafax offers a unique app for this. This allows students to check their balance, top up and make mobile payments and that is not all, because the app is full of useful functions. The myNetPay app can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store .
