Meet: Valentine - Account Manager Xafax ICT

At the beginning of March, our new colleague Valentijn van Ramshorst started working as an account manager at Xafax ICT. After this announcement a few weeks ago, we would now like to introduce you to: Valentine's Day!

Who are you?

I am Valentijn from Ramshort. I am 38 years old, father of three children and I live in Alkmaar with my girlfriend.

What are your hobbies?

In my spare time I like to go to my favorite football club AZ or play football myself on Friday evenings. In terms of sports, I like to go skiing and I also like to go for a run every now and then.

Our favorite holiday destination is Italy; good food, friendly people, beautiful nature and a nice climate.

What does your task package consist of?

That is very diverse. Of course, I am mainly in contact with our customers. I represent the interests of customers internally, so that they are completely unburdened.

I also issue quotations, follow them up and supervise the process towards final installation of the products and/or services. Fortunately, there is also plenty of time and opportunity to get to know the customer and talk about things that are important to them.

How did you end up at Xafax?

Through my big brother! He alerted me to this position and I didn't have to think about it for long, so I responded immediately. I have always worked in sales. I have gained a large part of my work experience at car dealers. From 2008 to 2021, I held various positions within the car company, from salesperson (internal and external) to used car manager for various brands (SEAT, Skoda, Volkswagen, Audi and Ford).

How are you liking your new job so far?

Very good, no day is the same. One day I sit at a company with 100+ employees talking about Service Level Agreements and the next day I sit at the kitchen table at a family business with 1 or 2 employees. The variety makes it a lot of fun. In addition, Xafax is a family business and you notice that, from moment 1 you feel welcome within the club!

What would you like to learn from your colleagues?

Especially a lot about the technology of our products and services. I have a great affinity with computers and related products, but of course I don't come from IT myself. In the first month I took many courses for a solid foundation. Now I like to develop further through 'learning on the job'.

What is your goal for the future?

The ambition is of course to grow, both personally and professionally. I would like to get to know all our customers well in order to maintain and perhaps further expand the relationship in order to give customers the same feeling as I now experience at Xafax; feel welcome!

What else should we absolutely know about you?

No idea really, but feel free to ask if you want to know more about me.
