Microsoft has announced the prices of its Copilot AI assistant for businesses. The feature should cost about $30 per user per month. In this article you can read more about Microsoft Copilot, what you can do with it and what the benefits are for your organization.

What is Microsoft Copilot?

Microsoft Copilot is a generative AI assistant that is based on GPT4 and is incorporated into the Microsoft 365 office applications. This feature allows the Microsoft 365 applications to produce emails, presentations, documents and much more using artificial intelligence. The feature will eventually be added to Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard and Business Premium.

How much do you pay for Microsoft Copilot?

The Copilot AI assistant costs $30 per user per month. This amount is in addition to the regular costs for a business Microsoft 365 subscription. This makes it difficult to call the function cheap. Compared to a standard subscription, the AI Copilot version is almost twice as expensive! That is not surprising, because the investments for the development of generative AI are enormous. The euro prices of Microsoft Copilot are not yet known.

What does Microsoft's Copilot mean for your company?

If you decide to use the feature, the Copilot assistant will help you write Word documents, analyze Excel spreadsheets, design PowerPoint presentations, check an Outlook inbox and summarize Teams meetings. All this naturally gives productivity within your organization a significant boost. If you know how to use the Copilot effectively, you will certainly get value for your money!

According to Microsoft, about six hundred business customers now have access to Copilot. It is not yet known when the feature will be released for all Microsoft users.

Bing Chat Enterprise

Microsoft Copilot will also have the functionality of Bing Chat Enterprise integrated. This is a business version of Microsoft's AI chatbot that ensures that no company data is leaked through the use of the chatbot. Data from Bing Chat Enterprise conversations is not shared or used to train the chatbot, and chat conversations are not stored. Furthermore, the feature seems to be the same as the regular version of Bing Chat.

Bing Chat Enterprise is added to Microsoft 365 E3, E5, Business Standard, and Business Premium at no additional cost. The feature is also offered separately for $5 per month.
