It is a story that we hear from many vendors these days: where in the first months of the pandemic we had to settle for piecemeal solutions to get home workers working, it is now high time that the workplace at home is set up just as seriously. like the one in the office that has been abandoned for almost a year now. The problem is that employees who work from home with highly confidential company and personal data also have to make a printout every now and then. These files are often printed on a home printer that is not allowed on the company network.
The company itself describes the problem quite nicely: the employee's laptop is usually properly secured with anti-malware, encrypted storage and decent authentication. Files are forwarded by email to a private email address. They are opened on a less secure private computer after which the documents are printed on a private printer. The email with company data is then not deleted from the mailbox and remains accessible via the private computer and mobile phone. This often causes companies to unknowingly experience a data breach.
However, the solution for this is simple and widely available. Sharp is now launching multifunction printers for employees who handle confidential data. These can be connected to trusted notebooks, so that they have the correct security settings. Many of the currently available printers have the functionality to encrypt all data sent to the printer and the data on the printer with the highest levels of encryption. This means that the data cannot be retrieved if the hard drive comes into the hands of someone else
Sharp adds four new compact high-speed black and white MFPs and printers to its A4 range. The MX-B427PW / MX-B427W and MX-B467P / MX-B467F offer powerful print speeds, optimal data security and wireless connectivity features, all in a compact design and provide a versatile range of extended applications for home or office environments. In addition to a modern design and space-saving modular configuration, the new models feature Sharp's signature multi-layer security features that help keep information safe in the document, on the device and over the local network.
