Customer case Haarlemmermeer Lyceum

The Haarlemmermeer Lyceum in Hoofddorp has been a customer of Xafax Visuals, formerly InfoWorks, for years. The school has two locations that are approximately 800 meters apart. These locations have their own specific form of education, but both offer a pleasant and small-scale learning environment with a modern design.

Hakan Basekin is a teacher of the Media, Technology and ICT (MTI) course at the location on Nieuwe Molenaarslaan. He takes us through the role that Xafax Visuals played in the digital design of the school.

What was the situation?

“The building we are currently in was completed in 2014. Then we took the old equipment from the previous location. We had three or four different systems running at the time. That really made you crazy. All different smart boards and touchscreens, with different versions. That didn't work. So we just wanted to have one uniform standard for all classrooms. That makes it easier, even if you encounter problems, you just know what it is.”

Why did you choose InfoWorks at the time?
“We requested quotes from various suppliers. What we liked about InfoWorks was that they had a demo model that we could use. When we were done using this demo model, we could simply call them and they would pick it up again. That appealed to us, because then we knew what we might be getting.”

“After that demo version, we placed our order with InfoWorks. Also because of the service we received and continue to receive. All you have to do is call and we will resolve it as quickly as possible. That makes it very enjoyable. So we had all the signs replaced.”

How do you like the collaboration with Xafax Visuals?

“That suits us very well. They've been coming here for a long time too. We now know each other quite well and that makes it nice to work together.”

“We had to postpone installing these systems twice because other suppliers were delayed or did not show up. Then we had to reschedule our appointment with InfoWorks, but fortunately that was no problem at all. When everything was ready, they arrived in no time to hang and install the systems here.”

Interactive screens

A number of brand new interactive screens have recently been installed in the visual arts and MTI classrooms. The advantage of this solution is that image and sound are shared wirelessly. In addition, the touchscreen functionality is also returned to your laptop, allowing you to use the screens interactively wirelessly. This ensures that you have great freedom in where and how you teach.
